WATCH: Georgina Wilson’s son Archie asking for adobo will make your day

By Kristelle Bechayda

There is nothing more amusing than watching your child cry over the simplest things. For Georgina Wilson’s two-year-old son Archie, the thought of not having adobo on the table makes him upset. Yesterday, February 17, the Filipino-British model and entrepreneur uploaded a video on Instagram of her son repeatedly asking for the dish even if it wasn’t a part of their meal plan.

Arch is such a mood

A post shared by Georgina Wilson💋 (@ilovegeorgina) on Feb 16, 2019 at 3:17pm PST

“I want some adobo,” Archie cried when the nanny told him they didn’t have any chicken. Promising to make his requested dish the next day, the nanny asked if he wanted steak instead. But the two-year-old answered with a resounding “No!”

In the end, the adorable little boy got what he wanted as he was finally served with adobo. When the nanny asked if it was his favorite food, Archie’s response explained the degree of his reactions.

“Exactly!” he happily exclaimed as he was about to be fed with his favorite dish.

Archie is the first child of Georgina Wilson and her English husband Arthur Burnand. He was born on December 16, 2016.

Baby essentials for the whole family

By Jane Kingsu-Cheng

Parents are always in search of the best products for the whole family. And when we believe in a brand so much, we want to share it to the rest of the community. One such mom is Gretchen Choa-Uy, who is the official distributor of baby blankets and swaddle brand aden + anais and Seventh Generation’s safe cleaning products. At the intimate and official launch of the two brands, she shared with fellow moms personal experiences of what convinced her to bring in these two prestigious brands.

Natural and durable

aden + anais’ main product is the swaddle blanket which is made of high quality muslin. Parents love the softness and breathable qualities, and it’s very durable, too! “My yaya used to pack different kinds of lampin, bib, and blanket in our diaper bag. For just a few hours out of the house, our bag would be so huge and overflowing. It took her a lot of getting used to the idea of multitasking with a single aden + anais blanket to do the job we used to assign to various blankets. It looks thin but it’s just as strong. It can also keep my son warm in air conditioned restaurants without making him sweat,” Gretchen excitedly shares.

Clean and safe

Seventh Generation has over 30 years of experience, priding itself with ingredients derived from plants among other renewable produce.

It takes a village to raise a child, so stop judging parents

By Jayvee Fernandez

New things trigger me as a parent. When non-parents complain that kids are too noisy at a family restaurant, then silently judge you when you bring out the iPad.

When they post on social media how annoying it is to have a crying baby on an airplane. Or those stares when your child throws a tantrum in the mall. The fact that you’re judging parents means that you’re part of the problem.

How did we get to this? There’s an old saying that goes something like “it takes a village to raise a child.” During my first trip to Japan, I was awestruck to see preschool kids walking together to school. They take the train together, for crying out loud, without any direct adult supervision. I learned later on that this sense of community is ubiquitous in Japan. These children know that they can rely on any adult to help if the need arises.

Yes, it can be an assault to the senses if you are within earshot of a tantrum. “If you can’t control your child then you should not have had kids in the first place” is like saying “if you complain about your job then maybe you should stop working.”

We are all trying. Everyone is just trying to move forward. Parenting is like driving in the fog with your headlights on. You can only see a few meters forward but nothing beyond.

So maybe,

When your child has a crush

By Robert Rubin

Ah, the joys of being a parent. The loving wonder you get seeing your child grow. From a toddler to a child, to a tween. Then, there is this mysterious instance where they go from your little children to someone different. They are more “broody” and conscious about how they look, how they present themselves and even at times they are conscious of being with you in public. Guess what? Your little youngsters are now maturing and, in all likelihood, crushing on someone!

It’s a rather amazing yet difficult moment for parents, since all the insecurities of your kids growing up too fast come crashing down on our poor heads. You feel that they are no longer your “little boys and girls” and that they are now really growing up. It is, at this time, that we need to change our tactics as parents.

When a child has a crush on someone, it is usually a very intense moment for the kids. Moments of shyness, insecurity and fear tend to over come the tweens as they begin to question their own value. It is, at this moment, that we as parents need to fire ourselves as the managers of our children’s lives so that they can hire you as consultants.

Gain their trust

The best form of communication begins by respecting the child’s privacy and need for space. There will be times that they just want to be in their rooms all day and be left alone.

Miriam Quiambao spends Valentine’s Day at the hospital

By Kristelle Bechayda

The prayers of Miriam Quiambao-Roberto and her husband Ardy have been answered. While the former beauty queen was immediately confined in the hospital after her Doppler ultrasound last Monday night, February 11, Miriam did not have to undergo the emergency cesarean section suggested by her obstetrician (read the story here).

On his Instagram post, Ardy shared that Miriam might be going into labor anytime and will be confined until after giving birth. The doctors are trying to prolong her delivery because the former beauty queen is only eight months along.

View this post on Instagram

Miriam had her Doppler ultrasound last night at the hospital and they didn't let her go home na! They said Miriam might be going into labor na so they have her on a monitor.. they'll try to keep baby Elijah inside her for a few more days so that his lungs are more stable. Miriam is not going home until she gives birth! Heto na! We're a month early so they'll try to prolong delivery as long as they can for the baby's sake.  Don't know when delivery is — can be anytime within the next few days or in a week or two sana… But good news is that prayers have been answered and contractions have stopped for now. There is also no more "brain sparing" so that means baby Elijah is getting the oxygen, blood and nutrients that his brain and body needs.

For Marian Rivera, dating never ends

By Jane Kingsu-Cheng

One may think celebrities have it all, but living a full schedule of activities can take a toll in a couple’s relationship. Take for example Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes. As seen on their Instagram feed, they make sure to spend their free time together and with their daughter Zia.

At the recent launch of her exclusive and limited edition jewelry and watch collection with Avon, Marian shared that she and her husband take that extra effort to spend time with each other. “Palagi naman nandyan si Dong para sa akinAng mahalaga lang yung time niyana nakikita ko kung paano niya i-manageMinsan ang dami niyang ginagawapero alam ko na humahanap talaga siya ng time.”

These classic gold studs can be worn 24/7.

Marian also believes that dating should never end between husband and wife. This will also set the standards for the children. Seeing their parents still very much in love will give them security as well. “Hindi dapat natatapos ang dating status ng mag-asawa kasi nagkakaroon pa rin ng connection and sparks sa inyong dalawaDapat nakikita iyon ng anak niyo na in love pa rin kayo sa isa’t isa.”

Spanish model Fatima Rabago slays in her maternity OOTDs

By Kristelle Bechayda

Due to the changes in our bodies, staying fashionable or dressing up can be difficult during pregnancy. That is why we can’t help but admire Spanish model Fatima Rabago for still being able to slay her looks despite being pregnant at 22 weeks. The soon-to-be mom of two has been sharing updates of her growing bump through her Instagram Stories and that, of course, includes her maternity OOTDs, which we have compiled below:

16 weeks: You can still hide your growing bump in an oversized tee and long pleated skirt

19 weeks: She’s definitely rocking this dress, don’t you think?

21 weeks: She can still fit into her bathing suit!

Tip: Wrap a belt above your baby bump for some accent!

22 weeks: Bare your tummy in a cropped tee for a more comfortable workout!

The Spanish model is currently pregnant with her second child. Fatima tied the knot with her long-time partner, Brazilian-Japanese model and photographer Hideo Muraoka, last November in Bali. They have an 8-year-old daughter named Daniela, or “Danda,” as they fondly call her.
