After tying the knot on June 12, 2015, the Soriano family make their debut as Red Ribbon’s latest family endorsers at a special media event in Makati Shangri-La. With little Seve turning terrific two this year, Toni and Paul share their insights on balancing work and going the extra mile as parents to their son.
Less gadget time
Time management also plays a big role in their family, including managing their son’s time while juggling their individual work schedule. Seve is currently taking classes to help develop his motor and social skills. The couple also makes sure to moderate his exposure to gadgets as a child born into the tech-savvy world. Paul shares, “If ever he watches videos, it’s educational videos. But yeah, we’re trying to keep it as traditional as possible, introducing him to the outdoors and trying to travel a lot.”
Beam with pride
As both parents continue working on their own projects in the industry, the key to nurturing their good relationship with their son is teamwork. The transition from being a married couple to becoming a three-in-one team went seamlessly, putting their son at the center of everything they do. Paul shares that he became more conscious of his work schedule after Seve was born, making sure that time spent away from his son is invested into films that are meaningful. His wife shares the same sentiment stating, “We want to do something our son will be proud of. Someday, gusto kong sabihin niya na ‘Mommy ko ‘yan!’ at ‘Daddy ko ‘yan!’”
Aside from the advice given to them by their parents, Paul says that he learns more about parenting through bonding with Seve. Parenthood is a continuous learning process for us parents, which is what Toni and Paul are experiencing and enjoying as they support Seve’s growth in his formative years.
