Ever since she found out she was pregnant, Isabelle Daza-Semblat dreamt of throwing a sports fest-themed baby shower for her first child. With the help of her sister, Ava Daza, who teamed up with Janna Pablo of Pabys Creates Events, they turned that dream into a reality. “I’ve always wanted to plan a sports fest amongst my friends. So this was my dream event, so to speak,” Isabelle shared with Moms and Babies.
Last March 17, the Daza family and their close friends celebrated the coming of baby Semblat with a sports fest at Manila Polo Club. Among the 175 attendees were celebrity couples Anne Curtis and Erwan Heussaff, Solenn Heussaff and Nico Bolzico, Iya Villania and Drew Arellano with Baby Primo, and Georgina Wilson and Arthur Burnand with Baby Archie. Rajo Laurel, Ruffa Gutierrez, and Liz Uy were present as well.
Isabelle, the fitness enthusiast, was inspired by the sports fests she enjoyed as a child. The idea seemed ambitious at first, but Pablo said that the process didn’t feel like a challenge because planning it was such an enjoyable experience. Pablo also expressed her gratitude to Isabelle, since she has been very hands-on in organizing the party, checking every detail, despite her pregnancy since February when they started planning for the event.
When it came to deciding on what games to be included in the event, the goal was to incorporate the journey of bearing a child through fun activities for the guests to appreciate. Aside from the games that brought the athlete out in everyone, they also had a baby shower relay for the guests who weren’t inclined to sports.
Unlike most traditional baby showers, where the celebrant is the center of attention all throughout the gathering, Isabelle wanted the event to focus on letting all of her guests. Aside from the sports event itself with an obstacle set-up from @spartanraceph, they also made sure that the kids would have just as much fun as the adults. Aside from the inflatable playground from @calebsinplaytafun for the little tots, there were also arts and crafts activities for the kids to play around with and keep them busy such as @theparty_project and @adaswonderlandpartyneeds. All thanks to @partymagicph for the balloons, stage sounds, and lights from @ignite.pro, a photo booth from @mediacastdigitalevents, cake from @cupcakelabph. Tons of party food was also served, such as @banhmikitchen, @spudbudsph, @fluffedph, @junglejoyph, @purenectar.co, @pufflesph, @proudlypromdi, @krispykremeph, @vampirepenguinmnl, @karabelladiary, @vitacocoph, and @gactiveph, with prizes from @certified_calm and @kleankanteen_ph.
With the success of her unique celebration, Isabelle gave us a few tips for those who are planning to have their baby shower. “One, have an idea or theme in mind and stick to it. Two, get my organizers because they made my dream event come to life! Janna Pablo of Pabys Creates Events and Patricia Infante of Cocoon Studio. Last, make it fun for everyone and not just about you.”
Beyond the unique concept of Isabelle’s baby shower, the beauty of the event shined through because of the close attention to details. The whole program was well-thought-out, even the proverbial passing of the torch of motherhood from Gloria Diaz to her daughter Isabelle. The games corresponded with the sports theme without sacrificing their meaningful significance in welcoming baby Semblat to the world. With the constant support and thorough planning of her sister Ava, Isabelle’s baby shower proves to be a memorable event for not only her guests but as well as those who have followed her journey to motherhood.
