Educational activities for summer

By Allyza Quirante

As summer vacation rolls in, it’s the best time of the year to encourage our children to pursue their hobbies and have some fun. And we don’t have to look far from home! We’ve found a variety of workshops and activities that cater to the different interests of our kids, all a stone’s throw away from those who live in Metro Manila.

Kids on the go

For moms and kids who love keeping a healthy lifestyle, Kerry Sports Manila welcomes summer by helping us and our children stay active with their exciting sports programs from April to July, available for both members and non-members. The sports club, located at Shangri-La at the Fort, Bonifacio Global City, is known for its extensive gym facilities and fitness equipment.

Kick off the summer with Taekwondo classes held every Saturday and Sunday from 7 April to 27 May 2018 with two sessions per day in the afternoon, open to kids ages 3 to 12 years old. Kids can also work on their backhand serves every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 16 April to 15 June 2018 in the morning for kids ages 5 to 12 years old. Let your child tread greater depths by signing up for swimming lessons in the sports club’s 25-meter outdoor lap pool every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, open to kids ages 4 to 12 years old.

A delicious way to build teamwork

As parents, we always make sure to instill good values in our children, which we hope they can share with their peers in the future. McDonald’s annual Kiddie Crew Workshop helps our kids learn how to work with others and build their social skills, by allowing them to take their stations behind the counters.

The Kiddie Crew Workshop offers various workshop schedules you can choose from, like the jam-packed weekday workshop that runs for five days with each session lasting for two hours. They also offer a weekend workshop, lasting for three hours per session, enough to give kids a sample of their play-based activities. Some of the activities include making your own cheeseburger, energizing singing and dancing exercises, and serving delicious orders with pleasant smiles behind the drive-thru window.
