A Showcase of Talent

Taking center stage

Shaping the future of performing arts in the country, Repertory Philippines (REP) recently conducted its annual summer workshop for aspiring actors. The activities were facilitated by seasoned artists in the industry that gave participants a comprehensive experience. Aside from exposing kids to the world of the theater, the classes also helped them realize the value of pursuing their own passions at an early age.

As part of the program’s culmination, students from the Junior Masterclass showcased what they’ve learned with the performance of the musical My Suite Princess. Directed by Joel Trinidad and Nicky Triviño, the musical tackles mistaken identity, silly situations, shenanigans, and true love.

Young entrepreneurs

It’s never too late to put up a business nor is it too early. A group of Kiddo-preneurs spent their summer crafting homemade products to sell at a mini bazaar. The children put up shop at the Greenbelt 5 Amphitheater, in order to give them an idea of how businesses work. Some of the products showcased were beach kits, stationery, handicrafts, food, and drinks.

Kiddo-preneur founder Maiki Oreta says, “Through this experience, the kids learn that business can be fun and financially rewarding if they have a good product mix that’s priced and packaged properly.”
