Moms share sleeping tips

“A good night’s sleep is a vital part of our overall wellness,” says CEO of HomeStudio and father, Grant Lim. He shares the philosophy of mattress manufacturer Magniflex that even relaxation is a form of art. At the recent gathering in their HomeStudio showroom, moms Stephanie Zubiri-Crespi, Nicole Hernandez-De los Reyes, and Mikaela Lagdameo-Martinez were present to share their newfound mattresses from this Italian brand.

Qualities they shop for

The three moms shared how they pick their mattresses, with Mika stressing the importance of hypoallergenic beds. Nicole loves the fact that she and her husband can have mattresses in different comfort levels, since she likes it soft and her husband Jaime prefers it firm. Lastly, Stephanie likes the fact that the beds are made with eco-friendly materials that are non-toxic.

Sleep tips

Aside from these attributes, Stephanie also shared some natural remedies to sleep better.

  1. One of the best advice I can give for good restorative sleep is to eat a light dinner. In fact, I sleep the best when I just have a hearty vegetable soup early in the evening. That way, your body can focus on restoring your cells and energetic and not digestion.
  2. I like to drink chamomile tea and spray some lavender mist on my pillow. I also diffuse lavender oil and cedarwood in the room.
  3. I try to shut off my phone around an hour or two before sleeping so I can have a digital detox and wind down properly.

We all know how challenging it is to put kids to sleep, mom-of-three Mika reveals her secret: “Ever since they were little, I got them used to laying down and falling asleep by themselves, lights off, a cold room, a comfortable bed, snuggled by pillows. Sometimes, we play soothing music. They all fall asleep instantly!”
