PlayLab: The country’s first digital playground opens its second branch in Metro Manila
By Kristelle Bechayda
Modern technology has changed the definition of playtime with this digital playground. PlayLab, which aims to show parents the positive effects of technology on children when properly utilized, is the country’s first digital playground. After launching at Robinsons Galleria in Cebu last year, it recently opened its second branch at Robinsons Galleria in Ortigas last October 31.
With the collaboration of Filipino media artists and international ones from Russia, Singapore, and China, the idea behind PlayLab came to life. This digital playground has a lot of interactive and educational games to offer your kids with its 14 installations. We asked the curator of PlayLab, Varick Ong, to share some of the activities you can try out:
- Fantasy slope
Enjoy the thrilling slope ride down to the bottom while the slide changes its scenes.
- Rainbow tree
Have a different kind of tree-climbing experience with their colorful and gigantic Rainbow tree.
- Fantasy water flow
Bend water to your own will with their Fantasy water flow.
- Ball strike
Or save the world from toy-stealing aliens by playing Ball strike.
PlayLab at Robinsons Galleria is open during its mall hours from 10 am to 9 pm. Each kid can already enjoy two hours of playing for only P450.00 and an additional P100.00 with every extra hour. Guardians may also accompany their kids at a rate of P225.00 for two hours. To maximize their playtime experience, children are advised to be dressed in comfortable clothes and wearing socks is a must. Socks are also sold at PlayLab for those who forgot to bring their own pair.
