Suzie Entrata-Abrera’s tips on staying fit for the holiday season
The holidays are fast approaching and your schedules are starting to get full as mini reunions are planned here and there, which means you would end up eating more than you usually do. You can minimize the unwanted weight gain, though. Take these tips from television host and sports enthusiast Suzie Entrata-Abrera during the recent opening of Toby’s Sports’ flagship store in Bonifacio Global Center.
Lose weight ahead of time
Before the Christmas season talaga, I really try to lose weight, kasi it is inevitable na kumain ng excess. I do prepare by trimming down before the holiday. So next year, agahan niyo na. November pa lang, medyo mag bawas-bawas na.
Make room for exercise
Any exercise, three or four times a week for one hour. So find a class- any workout na type or bet niyo. I do barre3 personally. I run also once a week. Just find anything that you like and can do consistently. For moms who are watching their kids at home, pagtulog yung baby nila, manood sila sa YouTube ng mga zumba. I wouldn’t suggest high intensity interval training right away. Just any workout na medyo entry level. Start from 20 minutes, 30 minutes, 40 minutes, up to an hour. Syempre depende kung gaano kahaba yung tulog din ng anak nila.
Eat small, frequent meals
I don’t have a diet plan. I eat small frequent meals, which means I eat everything. Mas madalas akong kumain sa isang araw. So I eat mga eight times to times pero small, parang I’m snacking throughout the day.
