United International Pictures Philippines recently unveiled the new poster for Dora and The Lost Gold City, a live-action film adaptation of the much-loved Nickelodeon cartoon series, Dora The Explorer.

This big screen debut comes after a run of fourteen seasons and 172 episodes in television.

Directed by 11-time Emmy nominee and four-tie BAFTA nominee James Bobin, Dora and the Lost City of Gold revolves around Dora, played by Isabel Moner, who takes on the most dangerous adventure of her life beyond the jungle she has always explored–high school.

However, Dora quickly finds herself leading her best friend and monkey, Boots, Diego, and a ragtag group of teens on a quest to save her parents and solve the impossible mystery behind a lost Inca civilization.

The film also stars Eugenio Derbez as Alejandro, a mysterious jungle inhabitant who tries to protect the teenagers from the marauders. Jeffrey Wahlberg also joins the cast as Dora’s cousin, Diego, while Nicholas Combe plays the role of Randy, a fellow high schooler who develops an immediate crush on Dora. Benicio del Toro, meanwhile, is the voice of the infamous thieving fox, Swiper.

The official trailer is set for a March 23 release via Nickolodeon Kids’ Choice Awards.

Dora and the Lost City of Gold is out in theaters August 2.
