Marian Rivera receives award for breastfeeding advocacy

By Kristelle Bechayda

Celebrity parent Marian Rivera-Dantes got awarded once again for her breastfeeding advocacy at the recently held mass breastfeeding event, Hakab Na! 2019.

Last August 10, the Mother and Child Nurses Association of the Philippines (MCNAP) gave the mom-of-two the recognition after only less than a year of proclaiming Marian as its Celebrity Breastfeeding Influencer.

On her Instagram account, the proud padede mom shared the news of her latest achievement, with her own message of encouragement to the other breastfeeding mothers.

Sa lahat ng mga mapagmahal na nanay, para sa atin ang pagkilalang ito! Sabi nga nila, ‘if you want it, work hard for it.’ Alam kong nakakapagod, mahirap, maraming kailangang isakripisyo— pero walang susuko! Laban, mga padedeMom! Kaya natin ito!” Marian wrote in the caption.

Her most favorite role

Having portrayed several characters since the start of her acting career, Marian’s role as a mother to 4-year-old Zia and her 3-month-old son Ziggy is her most favorite one, as what her husband Dingdong Dantes wrote on Instagram.

Sa lahat ng mga roles na nagampanan niya, paborito niya yung sa totoong buhay— ang pagiging isang Padede Mom! I am so proud of you, @marianrivera! Isang malupit na commitment yang ginagawa mo, at supporta kami sa iyo hangga’t kaya mo.”

Marian has been a proud breastfeeding advocate since she became a mother to Zia, and that carries on even now with her second baby,

In fact, the proud mom donated pouches of her excess breast milk to the milk sharing hub of The Parenting Emporium last month to be given to babies in need.

Kasi sobrang dami at alam ko na maraming nangangailangan at hindi lahat ng mga mommy eh nakapagproduce ng ganitong kadaming milk. So gusto kong i-share yung mga milk ko sa nangangailangan,” she said.

Keep doing what you’re doing, Marian!
