Mayor Isko rescues over 300 children from the streets of Manila

It was only about two weeks ago when Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso gave a stern warning to parents who have children loitering out in the streets. “One of the main issues that I raised before the MDSWD (Municipal Department of Social Welfare and Development) and to our policemen is to round up all the solvent boys in the streets, Rizal Avenue, in parks and so on and so forth and then bring them to the MDSWD and then to Boy’s Town,” Domagoso said.

In just 30 days, with the supervision of MDSWD, the Manila government was able to get 365 children out from the streets.

The Manila Mayor is a proud father to five children, and he understands that parenting can be challenging but this doesn’t mean one should leave the kids out in the streets.
