For Marian Rivera, dating never ends

By Jane Kingsu-Cheng

One may think celebrities have it all, but living a full schedule of activities can take a toll in a couple’s relationship. Take for example Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes. As seen on their Instagram feed, they make sure to spend their free time together and with their daughter Zia.

At the recent launch of her exclusive and limited edition jewelry and watch collection with Avon, Marian shared that she and her husband take that extra effort to spend time with each other. “Palagi naman nandyan si Dong para sa akinAng mahalaga lang yung time niyana nakikita ko kung paano niya i-manageMinsan ang dami niyang ginagawapero alam ko na humahanap talaga siya ng time.”

These classic gold studs can be worn 24/7.

Marian also believes that dating should never end between husband and wife. This will also set the standards for the children. Seeing their parents still very much in love will give them security as well. “Hindi dapat natatapos ang dating status ng mag-asawa kasi nagkakaroon pa rin ng connection and sparks sa inyong dalawaDapat nakikita iyon ng anak niyo na in love pa rin kayo sa isa’t isa.”

Maggie Wilson-Consunji’s tips for on-the-go moms

By Kristelle Bechayda

As a host, actress, mom, Amazing Race Asia season 5 winner, and former beauty queen, Maggie Wilson-Consunji has done so much in her life. Now, she adds entrepreneur to that list of accomplishments as she recently put up her furniture shop and cafe Casa Consunji. At the launch of her partnership with cloud platform GoDaddy Inc., Moms and Babies got to ask Maggie for some tips that other on-the-go moms can take notes from.

On handling daily activities

Maggie calls herself a very busy woman. Apart from running her business, she is also co-hosting in the travel show Beached, where it takes around four to five days to shoot one episode. While the taping may take up most of her time, she still prefers to be hands-on with her business.

“I do have a TV show but when it comes to sourcing and finding new suppliers, I along with my partners Janella and Parul picked every single item in the store ourselves. We’re super hands-on about that.” she said.

The former beauty queen is going to have more in her hands now that she is planning to expand her store. The thought of handling so much while being a mother and wife might be overwhelming, but Maggie still manages to get everything done.

“It’s all about time management,” she shared. “I believe in planning everything ahead because that way,

Start your year whole

By Amanda Griffin-Jacob | Photos from Spark Studio

As we head into the second month of 2019, most of us are still motivated to keep or make resolutions to help us become healthier versions of ourselves. In line with my aspiration to encourage my Glam-O-Mamas community to take better care of themselves this year, I partnered with The Wholesome Table to bring to fruition our first event for the year called Start Your Year Whole.

Humble beginnings

I founded my Glam-O-Mamas website eight years ago and the interactive Glam-O-Mamas Facebook Group was established in 2014. It has evolved into a society of over 34,000 active and engaged members and continues to expand each month. I envisioned it as a trusted sanctuary for mothers and mothers-to-be to connect with and support each other. I’m so proud to say that it is exactly that and so much more.

My fundamental purpose for this event was to create awareness, facilitate education, and provide assistance for my Glam-O-Mamas on their motherhood journeys into a healthier way of life for both them and their families.

Start with healthy food habits

In the program, I talked about self-care and wellness, while my fellow mom, friend, The Wholesome Table proprietor, Bianca Araneta-Elizalde, spoke about how to guide your family into healthier food habits. From inspiring words to practical tips, the event was centered around imparting just how crucial it is for women to take care of themselves first so they can take better care of their homes and families.

Jodi Sta. Maria continues to be a Dean’s Lister in school

By Kristelle Bechayda

Actress Jodi Sta. Maria is one of the most inspiring women out there. Despite her busy schedule juggling entertainment projects and being a mother to her son Thirdy, she is also pursuing her undergraduate degree in BS Psychology at Southville International School and Colleges. In fact, the actress seems to be finishing strong on her last year. On her Twitter account, Jodi shared a photo of the certificate of recognition she got from her school. It shows that the actress is part of the Dean’s List for the previous semester, with a grade point average (GPA) of 3.818.

Sharing with you this achievement and I give back all the glory to the One who made it all possible. Only by Your grace, Lord. This is Yours. I am Yours. ❤️🌈 pic.twitter.com/T9NQfLwluq

— Jodi Sta.Maria (@JodiStaMaria) January 30, 2019

She also posted on Instagram a photo of her holding the certificate, with a classmate beside her. In the caption, the grateful mom wrote to whom she dedicates her latest achievement. “As I inch my way to the “finish line,” You have always been my source of strength and comfort in everything, including my studies. My heart, mind, and soul is Yours, Lord! This would have not been possible if it weren’t for your great love and mercy. This for your glory, God – the giver of all good things.”

A single mom’s leap of faith

By Jane Kingsu-Cheng

Tiffany Tuazon was living the life as an employee stationed in a premium international hotel chain in Boracay. She gave it all up for her only daughter Zofia, who is now 7 years old. “I was pregnant with my daughter and started researching about baby products. I found Baby K’tan Baby Carrier and started importation and distribution. I added brands and decided to put up a store. One thing led to another and we now have three branches housing more than 120 brands,” reveals Tuazon.

The 30-year-old mompreneur started out with the baby carrier, and added brands like Baby Leaf, Belly Bandit and La Vie Lactation Massager to her list of exclusive distribution, under Babydragon Trading. She is also the proud retail store owner of The Nest Attachment Parenting Hub. All of these were built in just seven years time. How did she do it? Read on and be inspired by her story:

Why shift professions?

I have to provide for my daughter since I’m a single mom. I wanted to give her a good life and a good education. I took the opportunity when I was given the chance by Baby K’tan company in Florida to be their official distributor in the Philippines. I saw the growth potential of baby products and took that leap.

How is your day like?

Every week day, I would take my daughter to school and run errands (grocery,

Five tips on shopping for first-time moms

By Jane Kingsu-Cheng

With so many mommy-and-me products available out there, one can definitely get overwhelmed. Tiffany Tuazon of The Nest Parenting Attachment has her fair share of daily customer inquiries on what to buy and how to figure out which products one really needs. Here, she shares her top five tips:

1. Make a personal checklist.

Not all checklists available in the Internet is applicable to every family. Make sure your list is personalized based on you and your partner’s lifestyle and parenting preferences. List down the brands you prefer through research and stay within the budget by prioritizing items that you cannot compromise on brand and quality. For example, you can’t skimp on a good car seat but you can opt for a simpler more inexpensive bathtub.

2. Be practical.

Don’t be shy to register your baby’s needs through a gift registry. We have one online where you can easily add items in your registry and send the link to loved ones. Your friends and family are bound to give you something and they are clueless as to what you might need or already have. So having a gift registry is a smart way to make sure you won’t receive items you already have or don’t actually need. It also feels good for the people to know that they are giving you something that you will definitely use. Even love ones from abroad can send you their gifts ,too!

Five mommy resolutions

By Paulyne Fermin

Every year brings a new resolve to live better. So as I bid adieu to the year that was, here are my plans for 2019:

1. Make healthy a priority.

Everything else is secondary to one’s well being. This starts by drinking warm water with lemon in the morning, 30 minutes in the pool (longer during weekends when the kids are at home) and hula hooping. I’ve rediscovered and shared my love for the hoop with my daughter and we’ve had endless days of fun with it. Bowling at the country club is another fun activity we’ve recently tried as a family. Anything that will keep you moving is good.

2. Eat right.

This is the most difficult for me. I’ve been eating the same way I have since I was a teenager and it simply won’t do. Every meal now has a side of greens. I avoid the chips section in the grocery and now cook with significantly less salt. These small steps will hopefully lead to bigger ones like taking rice out of my diet and eating less meat. A good substitute for ice cream is yogurt and we loved Yogorino’s frozen delights (only 131 calories per serving!) which is filled with probiotic enzymes and aids in digestion too. Our favorites are the almond with brownie and pistachio variants.

3. Clean the house.

My husband uses everything he purchases at once.

Suzie Entrata-Abrera’s tips on staying fit for the holiday season

The holidays are fast approaching and your schedules are starting to get full as mini reunions are planned here and there, which means you would end up eating more than you usually do. You can minimize the unwanted weight gain, though. Take these tips from television host and sports enthusiast Suzie Entrata-Abrera during the recent opening of Toby’s Sports’ flagship store in Bonifacio Global Center.

Lose weight ahead of time

Before the Christmas season talaga, I really try to lose weight, kasi it is inevitable na kumain ng excess. I do prepare by trimming down before the holiday. So next year, agahan niyo na. November pa lang, medyo mag bawas-bawas na.

Make room for exercise

Any exercise, three or four times a week for one hour. So find a class- any workout na type or bet niyo. I do barre3 personally. I run also once a week. Just find anything that you like and can do consistently. For moms who are watching their kids at home, pagtulog yung baby nila, manood sila sa YouTube ng mga zumba.
