My superhero. He has all the strong features but inside he’s got the biggest and softest heart. He’s the best dad — always finding time to play and spend time with Olivia even when he’s so tired from work that ends up falling asleep in her playhouse or their “movie dates” at home with Olivia. He’s the bestest friend you can have — He will defend you and take a bullet for you. He’s passionate, creative and a smarty pants — everything he has is all from hard work. He’s the best husband ever — I can’t complain on how patient he has been with me esp when I’m pregnant. I can’t ask for anything more. I love you @gp_reyes I thank god for everything you are ❤️ happy birthday.

Andi Manzano’s baby shower is in the busiest maternity ward

By Jane Kingsu-Cheng

“I visited Fabella Hospital last week (they say it’s the Ground Zero for mothers giving birth in the Philippines — the busiest maternity ward in the country). When you enter the place, it’s 3-4 moms per bed with their newborn babies. Hundreds of moms give birth there a day and you’ll notice that every ten minutes, there’s a new mother coming in with a newborn baby,” radio personality Andi Manzano shares in her Instagram post.

She chose to celebrate her very first baby shower, in partnership with Pampers, in Dr. Fabella Hospital. Located in Sta. Cruz Manila, it is considered as the National Maternity Hospital. Thousands of mothers from all over the country seek refuge here because of its affordable and reliable health care.

It was an afternoon well spent with new moms and personal conversations that focused on caring for their babies. Now pregnant with their second daughter, she wants to share to these new moms what she learned along the way. After all, we all want the best for our children. “I wanted to share my newborn care essentials with the hundreds of new mothers here at Fabella – starting with the best diaper they can use,” shares Andi. “There’s really nothing quite like Pampers to keep babies comfortable and dry.” The afternoon ended with special gift packs for the new moms and boxes of diapers for the hospital.

Her husband GP Reyes posted,

“I’ve been wanting to get pregnant,” Andi Manzano-Reyes shares during the gender reveal party she and husband GP Reyes threw last October 9. The Mother Show radio host, who is expecting her second child, found out about her pregnancy a day before she and her family were set to leave for the States.

“I took a pregnancy test a month before the trip and it was negative,” she reveals. “This made me cry because it felt like I was pregnant. The day before we left, I checked again so I could be careful and I found out it was finally positive.”

A mini-Andi or a mini-GP?

Andi was two and a half months along when she found out the great news but only shared it to everyone when she was already on her fourth month. “My family and friends were the first ones to know and it was hard keeping it a secret,” she says. “We were all so excited and Olivia was sharing it to her classmates and teachers in school.”

When asked what was everybody’s guess on the baby’s gender, Andi shares majority are rooting for a boy, just like her. GP and their daughter Olivia, on the other hand, are hoping for a girl. Andi adds that whenever she jokes that a baby boy is to be expected, her firstborn would protest by saying,

Andi Manzano on being a millennial mom

By Jessica Pag-iwayan

We first heard her voice and her name on the radio waves and she is now considered one of the most popular radio DJs in the country. Andrea Bianca Martin Manzano, or simply Andi Manzano, continues to share snippets of her new chapter in life: mom to her adorable little angel, Olivia.

Andi believes in the power of social media. It gives her the opportunity to correct the misunderstanding that motherhood is so perfect, because of some of the stories that are shared online. It also helps to build a community where mothers can interact with one another.

“In YouTube, you watch the moms, you see how real it gets…. At the same time, you reach other moms as well and it becomes a community of people that help each other, teach each other, give tips, hows to-do’s and all. And I kinda want to share also the experience that we have or how it is really like an everyday life. That’s all about realness,” she shares, which is why this mother-daughter duo has been chosen as one of the influencers of Smart Communications and YouTube partnership.

As a first time mom, Andi also admits that every day is a challenge for her, trying to balance everything. “I think every day is a challenge. Like real challenge, because it’s like trying to balance everything like motherhood and all that, even being a wife. So I think the challenges are everyday challenges.
