Miriam Quiambao, who is currently 34 weeks pregnant with her first child, might end up giving birth prematurely. On a lengthy Facebook post last February 9, her husband, author and inspirational speaker Ardy Roberto, shared an update on his wife’s condition.

“Last Thursday we just got news from her OB that if the ultrasound this coming Monday still doesn’t look better, then she’ll have to do an emergency CS to protect the baby.” he wrote.

He continued his post with a detailed explanation from the former beauty queen. “The Perinatologist says my placenta is still thickened and getting “older” and calcified. This means that it’s getting harder and further obstructing blood flow of nutrition and oxygen of the baby. As a result, the baby is still small for his age, and is about two weeks behind in terms of growth.”

Miriam added “his head has descended further down and her cervix is getting shorter” and she “might give birth to a preemie.” She then asked for everyone’s prayers that she would not have to give birth anytime soon.

“Please pray that he lasts until full term or at least 37-38 weeks upon delivery and that the Lord will create a miracle and sustain my baby Elijah without any damage until he is born.” she said.

-At the age of 43, Miriam’s pregnancy has been considered high-risk and she had to cancel her prior commitments to avoid unnecessary stress.
